Family Time...slow Saturday

Another Saturday, another cancelled baseball game......leaving us with more time together at home!! Actually, we started out the day really early since hubby wanted to go to the swap meet at Englishtown. We haven't been here in years, but since hubby was looking for some parts to his 1969 firebird, we went. There wasn't as many vendors as there have been in previous years but we walked it all! I was exhausted, plus I woke up feeling under the weather which got worse as the day progressed.

Hubby didn't find anything but I got a bracelet & we bought some nice artwork. We love firebirds and there was artist there selling his drawings. So we got 3 drawings of firebirds to hang in our future home :)

When we got home I was glad that the game was cancelled because I felt so sick that I could barely keep my eyes open. So, straight to bed I went! Couple hours later I got up feeling a little better so I got to cooking :). Spaghetti & meatballs, everyone was happy!

Party Time - Umm, Not Quite

It's Friday....you know what that means???  PARTY!!! Ok, maybe not at my house-at my house its all about baseball this weekend and ofcourse - Five Question Friday!!!

1. Do you prefer to drive to your vacation spot or fly? I prefer to fly!! Yes I get a little scared, but flying gets you everywhere!!  We drive to Florida almost every year, and I hate knowing that we could be there in 2 1/2 hours had we just taken a plane.

2. If you could live any where in the world, where would you go and why?  If I could live anywhere in the world it would have to be by a beach.  Maybe somewhere in Florida but it has to be right on the beach! Although, it would be nice to live in Italy too!

3. Should grown women wear leggings?  Yes, if they are worn the right way.  I like to wear mine with long shirts, like a long button down shirt with a belt, leggings and nice knee high boots would look nice.

4. If you could change your name to any other name, would you? And what would it be?  Tiffini - I saw it written like this many years ago and I liked it because it was different.  You pronounce it the same as Tiffany, so its an easy name to say but I like that it is spelled differently.

5. What magazines to you have subscriptions to? Ugh, too many...LOL....Rachael Ray, Fitness, Travel & Leisure, All You, Parents, More......I think this is it.....I used to also have Real Simple, In Style, Glamour.

Destination Disney in Quotes ~ #3

I'm a little late in joining this week, but here is this week's theme from What's going on in....Heidi's Head!

"The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing" Walt Disney

I really love this quote because it is something I believe in even though its not something I practice too often! We all talk about the things we want to do in our daily lives or in the future, but really, the only way to do it is to start doing!  Everyone must start somewhere and some goals are easier to accomplish than others, but they all take hard work.

I will begin with my son....he has loved to play baseball since he could walk-he won't sit down and watch an MLB game but he loves to play it!  Now that he is older, it becomes more difficult, there is more work to be done in order to stay fit and go out to play these games.  He does not enjoy all the workouts, but this could potentially help him get a scholarship for college, so he knows that it is going to take lots of hard work to stay on top of his game so he can get noticed someday!

My daughter is another one....LOL, she wants to run before she could walk!  She's been taking dance classes(ballet, tap, jazz, flamenco, salsa & hip-hop) since the age of 3.  Now, after years of telling me that she wants to be a dance teacher, she tells me she wants to quit all other dance classes except salsa & hip-hop (the fun classes)!  I, of course, said NO!! No ballet - No other classes!  The basis of all dances is ballet and if she wants to be a dancer/dance teacher, she needs to know everything!  After much back & forth, she finally got it!  She understood so much that now she wanted to join gymnastics to be just like Mckenna from American Girl and do the bars & balance beam.  Before I enrolled her, I sat her down and explained that she would be doing a lot of other instructional exercises before she got to do the bars or balance beam.  To my surprise, she fully understood and is ecstatic with her classes!

So, for now, it seems that my kids have a full understanding of "The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing" Walt Disney

Now, if only I could be like that & finally take the jump in to real estate - I've been talking about it for years!!

Cabela's - An Outdoorsman's Paradise

This past weekend we took a spontaneous trip to Cabela's store in Pennsylvania.  It was almost a 2 hour ride, but so worth it!!

You walk in and honestly, you don't know where to go first or what to look at first-unless you are there looking for something specific!

Whenever there are fish to feed, my kids are there!! LOL!

Now, I'm not a hunter, I have shot a rifle, never tried the bow but I don't think I can ever hunt an animal plus I don't have the patience to sit there waiting for a deer or bear to come by! My husband on the other hand, loves it!  He loves being in the woods, he can sit there all day and would love for our kids to join him.  So far, my son is enjoying the time he gets to shoot his bow.  My daughter is also enjoying her bow, and even says that she wants to go get a turkey for Thanksgiving this year, LOL.  I guess that would be a nice experience for them, but I'm not sure that either of them is ready to be out in the woods, but only time will tell!!!  Are any of you interested in hunting?  I've seen some of those hunting shows with my hubby and there have been several women on there, I do think its cool but I could never do it!
