The End....

Well its finally Friday night!! My kids are at their dance classes for the next 2-3 hours and I have some time to myself. Normally, this would be the time to spend with my hubby but he's not feeling well and went to it is ME time!!

I started out the week with an agenda to take my kids out everyday. We made it to Wednesday and then Thursday and Friday became cleaning and grocery days! Well, I tried! They did enjoy what we did, and were both very happy about it. As you may have seen from my previous post, we went to see African Cats on Monday. Tuesday was a gorgeous day, so we took a trip to the local farm.

There wasn't much to see. There were few animals, the kids enjoyed looking at them and really got a kick out of the donkey screaming at my daughter! They couldn't stop laughing! Bummer was that there was no fresh produce for me to buy, and it wasn't what my daughter was expecting. So, after looking around and buying 2 tomato plants, we left.

Now, I had looked up nearby zoos the night before and I'm glad I did. 20 minutes from this farm, there was a park with a zoo inside...Van Saun Park Zoo. We went there and when we arrived, I saw a sign that said, "zoo free today", this was a nice surprise. After seeing this, I decided to ride the train first, actually it was my kids' idea, so I bought tickets for that.

After the train ride, which was a nice change of pace, we walked into the zoo. Now I've been to really large zoos before, Bronx Zoo and the Miami Metro Zoo, so this one was really nice since it was small. It fits into 1/2 day trips like this. They had few animals, all of them were animals found in here in the U.S. but the kids loved it. They each had a camera of their own, so this also made it fun! They went around taking their own pictures of the animals.

It was nice and sunny and we really had a good time walking around for a couple hours. We grabbed a couple sodas and stopped at the gift shop for a little treat and we left. We were back home by 2 pm, which was great! Wednesday was supposed to be a rainy day, so I decided to go see another movie. This time they chose Rio, but my son decided to stay home so it turned into a mommy/daughter morning.
The movie was very cute & the music was awesome! My daughter kept dancing in her seat.

The week turned out pretty well, I'm happy that I had the time to spend with them. Even though there were few complaints starting off the days, everyone had fun!

If you'd like to check out the pictures taken at the farm and zoo, I posted them all on my facebook page. Hope you stop by and enjoy!!

African Cats :)

Today I took my kids to see African Cats. they are off from school for a week, and I'm looking for things to do with them, so since it was supposed to be raining I decided that today was a good movie day!

This movie was great! My 5 year old was super excited, she love cheetahs and recently learned about the savannah in school! Towards the end of the movie she was getting antsy & was bored. My son wasn't happy about going but once the movie got going he was totally into it! I thought it was good, the narration by Samuel L Jackson was great & the story of these animals' lives was touching. I have to say, it made me tear up on several occasions throughout the movie! Absolutely amazing how these animals survive out there!

Afterwards, they played some arcade games and we came back home. End of day 1. Tomorrow I am attempting to visit a farm.....we'll see how that one turns out!

Spring Break with the Kids!!!

My kids' spring break started on Thursday, and will go on through all next week. I need to find things to do asap!! LOL, I adore my kids but we'll go nuts being locked up at home all week. So, we need to find inexpensive activities to do everyday this week. One of my ideas is to take them to the Liberty Science center. They also offer a ticket where we can enjoy the museum plus take the ferry to the Statue of Liberty. I think both of these would be fun, and they would enjoy it, plus it is educational.

At my daughter's request, I've also been looking for local farms. She is dying to go see farm animals and I think it be great for me since I can pick up some fresh produce. I'm also thinking of going to watch some movies. The movie African Cats looks great!!

So I'm hoping that the weather cooperates with us all next week so we can get out there and enjoy a bit of New Jersey!

Happy Easter everyone!!

We're Back!

Monday is almost over, I've spent all day at home and I'm still is that possible? Anyway, our weekend was great, exhausting, but great!

We left NJ at 1:30 and arrived around 7pm, checked in, dropped our luggage in the room and went off to Cici's Pizza for dinner.

We were starving, so we all enjoyed dinner, plus its pizza....who wouldn't enjoy that! We went back to the hotel & decided on some pool time!!

The next morning was brutal, we had to be up at 6:30am. First game was supposed to be at 9, but got pushed to 10 due to all the rain....the fields were still being worked on.

Game finally started and it went well. They could have played better, but it was good. We left for son ate with his team, Triple A Arsenal, and my husband, daughter & me went to Mcdonalds, then back to the field.

Second game was even better! The boys really played hard and came very close to winning. The other team was great, every single one of those boys hit...amazing!

Afterwards, we went back to the hotel and the boys went to the pool for a bit before getting ready for dinner. Dinner took forever!! We went to Outback, but since there were so many of us, it took forever to get everyone seated. Boys sat with their coach, and parents were sat seperately. It was fun, food was was just so late. We got back to the room about 10 and I was exhausted!
Before I knew it, it was morning again.....both these nights have been so short!! Up at 7am and back at the field by 9. This next game was even better than the day before! They won this game, so ofcourse everyone was so excited. Now they only had a 15 minute break before the next game.

The next game begins and all of the kids are exhausted and hurting. My son, who had pitched the 1st game, was on to start this game. Poor kid! His arm hurt, but he did it. He gave 3 innings as best he could, and I for one am very proud of him!! No excuses, he went out there and did what he had to do!

Unfortunately, they lost this game but it was a good tournament and they played their hearts out! We are very proud of each and every one of them.

Now its time for our long ride home. We made a quick stop at Mcdonalds for lunch & bathroom break and off we were. 6 hours later we were home!

On the road.....

We are on our way to Virginia....yay!! The weather hasn't been great, although as we were towards the end of the NJ Turnpike, we finally saw the sun and a dry highway. Unfortunately, this didn't last long as its raining now in Delaware....stinks!

Traffic hasn't been great either! RRRR....stop & go as soon as we got into Delaware, oh well.....atleast we are out and in 3 hours will be all checked into our hotel. Then we just have to figure out where to go eat....Outback? Olive Garden? Hmmmmm...decisions, decisions.

Hi everyone!  So last week I talked about my fitness goals.  Today, I'm going to write out some of my goals.  I feel that if they aren&#...
