Ending Fall Baseball with a Trip!

Always the best way to end something, if you ask me! Fall baseball was coming to an end, was getting a bit too cold to sit outside and watch these games.  Not to mention the poor kids who freeze while standing out there, actually they probably don't feel it as much-kids will be kids!
Anyway, the coach signed the team up to play in 13u The Walk Off Tournament at Ripken in Aberdeen, MD.  They have been on other trips before, but this place was nothing like the Virginia facilities that we've been to.  All I could say was "Wow!"  I was speechless.....the place was amazing!  To see our kids playing here was truly amazing and a very memorable experience! The kids were super excited!  Their first game was at Ripken Stadium and they couldn't wait to get on that field!

So they won this game & we were off to have lunch and then prepare for the 2nd game!  The 2nd game was played at Yankee Stadium....oh yea-they have replica stadiums here like Fenway, Yankee, Wrigley Field & few others, being a Yankee fan I loved that we played at this field :D
My son pitched this 2nd game & I am always proud of him, but this day I couldn't have been prouder!!! He did an amazing job, and proved so many wrong.....unfortunately those that needed to be proven wrong were not here to witness this but that's okay-I wouldn't want them anywhere near my family-the way news travels in this town, I'm sure they already heard :) He went out there and pitched 9 was tied 1-1 and finally in the 9th inning we got a hit that brought in a run and that was it....Arsenal wins again!!!

And with this win we went back to the enjoyed the pool, we relaxed & then got ready for dinner!
Before I get into dinner, I do have to say that I was equally impressed by the hotel. It was nothing spectacular, we stayed at the Courtyard Aberdeen at Ripken Stadium, but the decor was all baseball related. Besides that it was right on the property, the view from our room was Ripken Stadium.
View from our room #406

Moving on.....we went to Applebee's for dinner.  It was your typical dinner & I ate way too much!  I was so glad to leave, I was stuffed & exhausted.  I was in bad need of some sleep!
Next day we had another game in the morning, fortunately it wasn't as cold as Saturday and thanks to Daylight Savings, we got an extra hour of sleep when we set our clocks back....I was grateful!!!
This morning game was also won, and this got the team into the semi-finals, where, unfortunately, brought their winning streak to an end!  It was a good game, couple of errors but that's baseball.....8 innings later and they lost!  It was heart breaking but it least they walked away with 3 wins....this has been their most successful trip so far!  And they have memories to last a lifetime.....until next time!!

Heading' South

Heading South just not as far as I'd like to go. It's time for my son & teammates to go on their trip...this time we are heading to Cal Ripken in Aberdeen, MD! Should be fun & looks like the weather is going to be good so it'll be great! Nice to getaway even if it's for the weekend!
Bad part of this trip is leaving at 7 & getting stuck in traffic :/ this is horrible!
I'm off for now-can't wait to get down there & go crazy taking pics:)

Time to wrap up a Year of Dance

The weekend of October 22nd has got to be the busiest weekend yet!  It actually began on Friday, right after work we had to go to the theatre for rehearsals.  Both my kids take dance classes, my daughter has 8 numbers and my son has 4......we didn't leave until 10:30......I was exhausted, actually I think we all were.
Next day we were up early again & headed up to Rockland, about an hour away, for a double header.  Yes, my son is still playing baseball but its almost over.  Good thing is the weather wasn't bad this weekend, so we enjoyed the day there!  We were back home late in the afternoon and all I could do was prepare for Sunday.  This day was going to be torture!  Don't get me wrong, I love baseball and dance, but when it involves an entire is exhausting.
Sunday morning finally came, and my son had another baseball game.  It was close to home and very early, so I packed up all of the recital stuff and went to watch my son a dress & heels I might add! Not exactly baseball game attire, but I knew that there would be no time for me to change clothes after the game.
While I watched, I fixed my daughter's hair and her makeup.....then once the game finished, I changed her into her dress.  My son changed in the car.....LOL!!
We grabbed a quick lunch, bought dress socks for my son (somehow this completely slipped my mind) and went to the theatre.
Once there, I went straight to the dressing room to grab my spot.....this place gets crazy with so many moms & girls getting ready in between numbers.....super crazy!!!  I touched up my baby's makeup, she looked gorgeous!!!

She likes this toooooo much, LOL, but its all good!!
My son was easy, he's 13 and his clothing changes weren't too bad! I left my daughter & son at their assigned seats & went to find one for me.  I really wish they had assigned seating for us too....It would make my life so much easier!
Finally the show began and the first hour (or two) were all about graduates, awards and reminiscing about the dance studio's owner's past years! Nice show.....long, but it was nice.....45 years of a successful dance academy and still going!
After my daughter got her award, I met her backstage for her 1st change of clothes.......

I came out just in time to see my son go up and get his medal........

Opening number begins.....The Wizard of Oz & my little duckling was beautiful.  When she came off the stage, I ran back to change her into the next costume.  This is how I spent the rest of the night, from 4pm-9pm, come out to see the show, then run backstage to change my daughter!! EXHAUSTING!!!

Pictures from my son's dances didn't come out great, but here are a few.

I need to save money and get a good camera for events like this!  For now, this is what I got and it isn't terrible!
I was exhausted but I loved every minute of it!  What a show!!!! I was so proud of my kids, they did an amazing job!!! Love my babies :D

Hi everyone!  So last week I talked about my fitness goals.  Today, I'm going to write out some of my goals.  I feel that if they aren&#...
