....and it Continues!

Sunday was another early morning.  Up & out the door for a 9am game, plus the make-up game that was cancelled yesterday.  On the drive we were doubtful that the game would happen since it was cloudy but it really cleared up and the day turned out to be great!  Unfortunately, the games weren't so great.  2 terrible losses, back to back :(

After this we went home to change into our bathing suits & headed to South Jersey to visit my hubby's sister, and take a dip in her pool!!  When we got there, both my kids jumped in but I waited.  My hubby was busy working on his motorcycles, when the food was ready we ate--burgers, macaroni salad, chicken & chips--then the kids went back to the pool, hubby went back to work & I was too tired to do anything so I went inside to watch tv and ended up falling asleep on the couch.  After a little while, I woke up and hubby & the kids were back inside the house.  We stayed here late, but finally went home to go straight to sleep.
The next morning we woke up...not too early....and decided to take a walk on Boulevard East to see some ships, being that it was Fleet Week in NYC.  When we got there, I didn't see anything....so we got back in the car & hubby took us to Liberty State Park hoping we would see some ships there plus we would be able to see the Statue of Liberty.  We got there, walked around--the day was gorgeous--but still didn't see any ships.  I gave up and just enjoyed the walk and the view....it is beautiful.  I have also decided to make sure that we plan a day to visit Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty this year.  It is a shame to say that I have lived in NJ for most of my life and have never been to the statue, so I am determined to take my kids there this year!

This was a great way to spend Memorial Day!!!  God Bless America!!!

Hope you all enjoyed your long Memorial Day Weekend!!!

Taking a Detour!!!!

So we are up & out of my dad's house by 7am.  It was hard and I tried to leave quickly, my poor baby girl even cried-I felt soooo bad for her.  Usually I'm the only one crying, but she really didn't want to leave :(  So,  we said goodbye-hope to be back soon (permanently) and we drove off!
About an hour out, we stopped for breakfast and had to practically make a run for it, LOL! There were like 20 buses full of kids!! By the time we got inside, the Dunkin Doughnuts line was like a mile long-ugh, there goes my coffee!  So we had no other choice but to eat burgers at Wendy's, everything else had super long lines that we didn't want to wait on!
We grabbed our burgers and left.  A little while later Laz asks me if I want to stop at Clearwater Aquarium.  At this point, I'm not 100% sure-I was sad about leaving & felt like just being home to calculate & come up with good, concrete reasons to move to Florida.  On the other hand, I really wasn't looking…

Weekend Trip to Niagara Falls, Canada~Part 2

Here is our 2nd day in Niagara Falls.  We started our morning with breakfast in the hotel restaurant.  After breakfast we headed over to Marineland.  This park was nothing spectacular, but it was a nice little trip.  We saw a dolphin show, saw several other animals, killer whales, fed Beluga whales and rode 1 or 2 rides.  Again, nothing spectacular but it was fun.  A lot of walking, and our favorite part was feeding the beluga whales - they were so cute!
The dolphin show was also fun!  Its been a long time since we've seen dolphins in action.

After all the walking, we were run down and hungry.  We headed back to the hotel to shower and prepare for our dinner at Massimmo's Italian restaurant.  The view was beautiful!  I enjoyed dinner, but hubby and baby girl didn't.  I like to try new things and unfortunately the other 2 don't - and there wasn't much on the menu that they liked.  Baby girl had Ceasar Salad, hubby had Minestrone soup and I had Linguine Carbonara.

Cooking Corner: Cookbook Challenge Day 1

Hi everyone!  I'm starting April with a little challenge for myself.  You are all welcome to join if you choose.  I have a rather large collection of recipes that I've never tried and since I started to declutter my life of things I don't need, this is one area that needs help. What do I need so many cookbooks and binders of recipes for? I don't know - it just takes up space and it's another thing for me to clean.  So, I decided that if I can't find good recipes that we love, there is no point in keeping the book or recipe.  I attempted this challenge a few years ago but never followed through.  This time, I intend to stick with it.
Here's my challenge:
Pick a book a month and try some recipes.
Decide what we like and what we don't.
If I have at least 15 recipes that we like, the book stays.  If not, I'll just copy the few recipes we liked and get rid of the book.
Not sure what I'll do with the book yet.  I'll figure it out at the end of th…
