TGIF!!! Sleep Late, Wedding Dress Pics & More!

Yay, its Friday~I get to sleep late for the next 2 days :) LOL, waking up at 5:30am is killing me....I'm not a morning person & its so hard to get up when that alarm clock goes off!  Fortunately, there is nothing that has to be done early for the next 2 days, so I will be in bed until 9am....I usually can't sleep past that time unless I'm really exhausted.
Now on to 5 Question Friday....I missed the last 2 but I'm back, here it goes:

1. How long did it take for you to find your wedding dress? (Wedding dress pics anyone?) No, I knew what wedding dress I wanted since I was 14!! LOL, at 14 I was flipping through bridal magazines to get ideas for my sweet 15 dress when  I saw "My Dress" - really what caught my eye was the heart shaped cut out in the back, I LOVED IT!! I tore the page out and kept it.....When I was ready to begin the search for this dress, I went to David's Bridal & there it was....MY DRESS!!!

There was a heart cutout on the chest too!

My hair is covering part of it, but that is the heart cut-out on the back!

2. Someone in your general vicinity releases a NASTY smelling fart. Do you say anything or blow it off? I blow it off & try to walk away, unless its family-then I will tell them something! LOL!

3. What is the scariest thing that happened to you or scared you recently? The scariest thing that's ever happened to me was a week after giving birth to my daughter, I began to hemorrhage in the early morning.  My husband was working & had to rush home to take me to the hospital, where I was admitted and underwent emergency D&C.  I have never seen or experienced something like that, I really thought that I was not going to be coming back home to my kids...it really was terrifying!

4. Favorite brand and flavor of ice cream. Breyers-chocolate, vanilla, cookies & cream, snickers and Haagen Dazs - Dulce de leche......yummy!!!

5. Are you able to sleep well in hotels? As long as its a nice, clean & comfy bed, I can sleep anywhere...LOL!!

  1. Found you on 5QF. I love it when we know exactly what we want! I didn't have a clue about my wedding dress, so it took us longer to find mine.

Gosh...that after delivery story sounds so SCARY! Glad you are ok.

Taking a Detour!!!!

So we are up & out of my dad's house by 7am.  It was hard and I tried to leave quickly, my poor baby girl even cried-I felt soooo bad for her.  Usually I'm the only one crying, but she really didn't want to leave :(  So,  we said goodbye-hope to be back soon (permanently) and we drove off!
About an hour out, we stopped for breakfast and had to practically make a run for it, LOL! There were like 20 buses full of kids!! By the time we got inside, the Dunkin Doughnuts line was like a mile long-ugh, there goes my coffee!  So we had no other choice but to eat burgers at Wendy's, everything else had super long lines that we didn't want to wait on!
We grabbed our burgers and left.  A little while later Laz asks me if I want to stop at Clearwater Aquarium.  At this point, I'm not 100% sure-I was sad about leaving & felt like just being home to calculate & come up with good, concrete reasons to move to Florida.  On the other hand, I really wasn't looking…

Weekend Trip to Niagara Falls, Canada~Part 2

Here is our 2nd day in Niagara Falls.  We started our morning with breakfast in the hotel restaurant.  After breakfast we headed over to Marineland.  This park was nothing spectacular, but it was a nice little trip.  We saw a dolphin show, saw several other animals, killer whales, fed Beluga whales and rode 1 or 2 rides.  Again, nothing spectacular but it was fun.  A lot of walking, and our favorite part was feeding the beluga whales - they were so cute!
The dolphin show was also fun!  Its been a long time since we've seen dolphins in action.

After all the walking, we were run down and hungry.  We headed back to the hotel to shower and prepare for our dinner at Massimmo's Italian restaurant.  The view was beautiful!  I enjoyed dinner, but hubby and baby girl didn't.  I like to try new things and unfortunately the other 2 don't - and there wasn't much on the menu that they liked.  Baby girl had Ceasar Salad, hubby had Minestrone soup and I had Linguine Carbonara.

Cooking Corner: Cookbook Challenge Day 1

Hi everyone!  I'm starting April with a little challenge for myself.  You are all welcome to join if you choose.  I have a rather large collection of recipes that I've never tried and since I started to declutter my life of things I don't need, this is one area that needs help. What do I need so many cookbooks and binders of recipes for? I don't know - it just takes up space and it's another thing for me to clean.  So, I decided that if I can't find good recipes that we love, there is no point in keeping the book or recipe.  I attempted this challenge a few years ago but never followed through.  This time, I intend to stick with it.
Here's my challenge:
Pick a book a month and try some recipes.
Decide what we like and what we don't.
If I have at least 15 recipes that we like, the book stays.  If not, I'll just copy the few recipes we liked and get rid of the book.
Not sure what I'll do with the book yet.  I'll figure it out at the end of th…
