Life Happens

Well, another week has gone by.  Hope all my ladies had a wonderful Mother's Day!  I enjoyed a full weekend of Mother's Day, although my chores & work didn't stop.

So last week didn't go as planned.  My daughter was out of school for 3 days, and when this happens I go into work earlier.  Right now, I don't leave home until 8AM but when I go in earlier, I leave home at 6:45 AM.  This affects my workout schedule because I would have to wake up at 4AM instead of 5:30AM, which is already a struggle.  So, I thought I would just work out after work.  HA! What a joke!  I can't even believe I thought that would happen.  3 days went by and I did NADA!!

What I did do, was eat!  I was so unprepared last week.  I ran out of chicken, so I had no prepped meals.  I tried to order as healthy as I could at work, but then our dinners were absolutely horrible choices.

Then comes the weekend - starting with Date Night.  We haven't had a date night in a while so I was looking forward to it and we went to Olive Garden.  I love trying new things from their menu and they had giant stuffed shells with shrimp.  So that's what I got.  4 giant stuffed shells and shrimp!

Hubby got the giant meatball over spaghetti.

My drink was very good too - the Passion Fruit Moscato 'Rita.  It's only available for a limited time, so I couldn't pass it up.

We both took home leftovers because we couldn't finish, but I definitely at too much.

Saturday was a very busy day.  We are moving at the end of June and I had to start packing things that don't need to be out.  This was another day of terrible eating.  It started with a Media Noche (midnight sandwich), similar to a Cuban sandwich.  Later that day I reheated my 2 leftover shells from Olive Garden.  Then later that evening we ordered from 354 Steakhouse through GrubHub and I had a loaded baked potato with Garlic chicken - so, so good!

That night I couldn' sleep.  The bad eating really caught up to me and my stomach hurt, I was bloated and tossed and turned all night.  I couldn't believe how much coming off my healthy eating would have affected me.

The next morning I wasn't feeling great and I was still tired.  Hubby made Cuban espresso to have with hot milk and crackers.  Since it was Mother's Day, I didn't want to do much but still did some packing & laundry.  Then took a 4-hour nap! LOL, that felt so good!  After my nap, Hubby told me that he ordered pizza from Domino's.  They called us to let us know that they were really behind and understaffed and delivery would be 2 hours, so we changed it to a pick up.  10 minutes later, hubby and me were there to pick up dinner!  We went home, stuffed our faces and I continued with my laundry & cleaning up my kitchen.

A little later, we went out for a Target run then back home.  Hubby went to bed for the night and I stayed up to finish washing my daughter's school uniform.  Had a bowl of cereal about an hour after returning from Target and went to bed 30 minutes later.

Nutrition was definitely not on point.  I felt like crap although I did enjoy everything I ate.  Now I'm bloated so no sense in weighing in or taking new measurements.

Am I going to beat myself up about this?  Absolutely not!  It's been a stressful week and Mother's Day Weekend.
I know that I can get back to my routines and meal plan.  I made sure that we got enough of everything during our grocery shopping trip.

Here is what I prepped for the week:

Baked 5 medium sweet potatoes
heated up broccoli

That's it - LOL.   I have chicken which I prefer to cook the night before or the morning of the day I will eat it.  I also have yogurt and berries to put together for snacks throughout the week.  For dinner, I plan on having a salad with either chicken or ground turkey - depends on what I feel like having each night.  Point is I am ready for this week.

I have a workout calendar that I am following and my last workout was Wednesday, so today I will start off with Thursday's workouts and go on from there.  This works to my advantage because now my days off will fall during the week.

It all worked out for me.
I'll lose the bloat and get back on track!
